Has the standard Seiko Z22 rubber divers band The Watch is signed on the dial, movement, rear caseback and bandThis is a big and beautiful cushioned case timepiece, yet with a very comfortable wrist feel. Manufactured in July, 84 and just recently restored . It is a terrific value for a classic automatic diving watch. It will continue for years to come, to be an accurate, handsome and functional timepiece. Its value will only increase, as these classic and iconic timepieces disappear form the marketplace. *Just a personal note: you may see many of these Turtle divers and watches on Ebay..Most coming from overseas. Beware, as many are junk and have parts pieced together from many different watches. Not easy to return these Junk timepieces. I have a 14 day return policy. At least I know where my watches come from and whats inside them. BUY USA This is simply a stunning timepiece that offers real presence on the wrist. One for the true Seiko lover Dont spend this kind of money on an un-serviced Turtle, referred to as an all original timepiece. They might function now but with fail down the road! *** A truly all original serviced in this condition would be almost impossible to find. If by a miracle you did,it would be over $1,000. And you still wouldnt be sure about its origin. **This diver ,out of much of the vintage Seiko Diver line, remains one of the most sought after models anywhere!ACTOR ED HARRIS WEARING A 6309-7040/9 CUSHION CASE TURTLE MORE PRAISE FOR THE SEIKO 6309 7040/9 TURTLE The 6309 divers are probably the most popular dive watches ever! Its reputation for ruggedness (robust construction and highly reliable movement) and affordable price(years ago) made the 6309 a popular choice. After almost 30 years since its last production, these watches are still highly sought after in second hand market places. **In fact a large aftermarket demand has developed to support the restoration and modification of these watches. ***Seiko purists might hesitate and object to aftermarket, but a nicely restored, serviced and accurately timed 6309 homage to the early 6105,such as this one, justifies everything. You will not find one nicer. Please remember this is NOT a new automatic watch. Even though it has been serviced, like most automatics, you will have to gently shake the watch in a clockwise or counter clockwise movement to get the rotor working properly, and to store kinetic energy. This is especially true when the watch has not been worn for some time. Reserve power has to build up for sometime to keep the watch running when not worn..If you have many automatic watches and dont wear the same one frequently, I suggest buying an automatic watch winder, this way your watch will always be ready to wear. EVERYTHING I PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED IS NORMAL FOR AUTOMATIC WATCHES. ***JUST A PERSONAL NOTE ABOUT THIS WATCH. I HAVE BEEN BUYING,SELLING AND COLLECTING VINTAGE SEIKOs FOR SOME TIME...DURING THIS TIME I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I CANNOT MAKE EVERYBODY HAPPY lol..SOME WANT ALL ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED UP MODELS AND SOME WANT RE-LUMED AND PERFECT RESTORED WATCHES.. your choice ****Instructions for quick-set day /date and setting time. Also information on how to take care of the watch once you receive it Setting Date then Day: Carefully, Unscrew crown by turning it counterclockwise, until it pops up a bit and pull out until you hear two clicks.Turn the crown counter clockwise (like you are setting the time) until you see the date and/or day change past the 3. Push crown in and pull out to one click. Now set current date by turning screw clockwise. To set the day, in the same first click position, turn the screw counter clockwise to the correct day. Push in, dont screw in, yet. Setting date and day this way, will help preserve the automatic date switching gear of the watch. Do not change day/date BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9PM AND 3AM..it can damage the movement Setting the Time: Pull the crown out gently until you hear two clicks, then turn counterclockwise to set current time. DO NOT SET THE WATCH BACKWARD. When finished with setting day, date, and time, push crown so it is seated correctly on the thread, then screw it in clockwise, hand tight. NOTES: The watch will not keep time straight out of the box, because the reserve feature is empty.Filling the watch reserve takes a minimum of 3- 5 days of continuous ACTIVE wear, and placing it, if you can in a spinning watch winder box nightly. If this is not done,(wearing continually or winder) it may not work properly & run erratically, which means the second hand will start and stop or seem to run incorrectly, until the reserve is properly filled. All automatic watches are designed to be worn constantly or placed in a watch winder. Movement of the watch is the only power source. Please read all available and pertinent info in the proper care of automatic watches. You are responsible for knowing what you are buying and reading the entire listing. Keeping Power Reserve Full: This is a movement based automatic watch that winds while you wear it, and does not contain a battery. It has a possible 30 hour power reserve that will keep it possibly functioning for up to 35 hours, WHEN FULL. Upon receiving, the power reserve is empty, and the watch will function erratically ( meaning starts and stops). This is normal for all automatic watches until you properly wind the reserve. The power reserve will need to be topped up by wearing it daily. When not wearing the watch, placing it in a watch winder will keep reserve topped up. When ready to wear again, give it a few shakes side to side, then set it as mentioned above. Do this daily, while wearing.
