SUMMARY: A very fine condition, vintage stainless steel Swiss mens Calendar wrist watch in full working order, retailed by Harvel. The watch ticking away strongly and keeping very good time indeed, and just cleaned and overhauled by my watch-maker. THE DIAL: 100% mint, the original two-tone black and grey dial with silver Arabic numerals and signed Harvel. Dial with luminous dauphine hands and red centre seconds hand. Diameter is 25 mm. The new crystal is also in excellent condition. The central calendar hand, moves when the adjusted by turning the winding crown for 24 hours, and there is a 1 - 31 day of the month band around the edge of the dial. THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with satin steel plates and finely engraved balance cock. A shiny blued steel Bosely regulator, and ruby endstone setting, blue steel screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with overcoiled hairspring. The movement working very well indeed and a fully signed FHF 175 calibre, with 17 jewels. The watch with a stainless steel winding crown. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment. The watch is in very good working order for its age. THE CASE: 100% mint, the stainless steel case measures 30 x 34 mm outside diameter. The front cover is excellent and the snap on rear cover closing very tightly, with the odd fine scratch. The watch marked with Harvel company stamp. The case in very fine condition for its age. The watch is on a new leather watch band which will fit most mens wrists and also comes with a new presentation box. This is a high quality Swiss calendar wrist watch dating from the late 1940s, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show various reflections and minor dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case.
