Seiko Sports 100 7A48-5000 Moon phase 15Jewels quartz Chronograph Birth Year from July 1987 in lovely condition good size bracelet These were Some of the most popular 1980’s watches today are the Seiko 7A series, and the 7A48 was the most complex of them all.HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1987CONDITIONSo why are the Seiko 7A28/38 and 7A48 models so sought after? They can be accurately dated to a year (and month) of production for a start. They are larger than most quartz watches of the 1980’s, so are more wearable today. The 15 jewel movement can be completely stripped and serviced, unlike some quartz watches. The cases are usually made of stainless steel, as with this model. And this movement was also a horological first – it was the first time a 1/10th second chronograph was made with a quartz movement, ever.This example has been used infrequently, as you see the case and bracelet are in lovely used condition so is the clasp which do mark very easy the bracelet is a good size at 8 inch just will fit smaller wrist as well . The watch even still has its back case sticker the only real marks are on the back case from poor battery change done in the watches past not by me .I have cleaned the large, original bracelet in ultrasonic bath so its save for new buyer the crystal is mint and as far as i know the one it came with new the watch has been used but not that much the dial and hands are in lovely condition all hands reset to zero with no issues all pursers work very easy . All the functions work as they should keeps very good time as these all seem to do has that lovely 15 jewels movement , including the quick set date and moon phase ( the Seiko web site will be able to tell you the exact phase of the moon wherever you are lots of info on line and you tube ). The The watch has been fitted with a new battery in the few weeks and been on test running very well if you need more help please let me know . This is a nice looking watch and i think in nice condition its not mint but in lovely condition for its years and to also have that lovely size bracelet is a bonus .
