The watch’s design adheres to the classic aesthetics of a military watch. The circular case and the fixed bezel have been brushed giving it a matte and scratch resistant appearance, while a recessed push-pull crown is positioned at the 3 o’clock mark. Hardlex glass has been applied to both the front of the case and the exhibition case back.The Dial: The dial comes presented in a deep blue hue and it exhibits an uncomplicated design that ensures optimum levels of readability. Around the outer edge of the dial there is a 60-minute scale that is separated by increments of five minutes, besides them are small luminescent pips which enable the dial to be read in the dark. The 12-hour scale is displayed through Arabic style numerals within the inner dial. A day-date display window is presented neatly besides the 3 o’clock marker. An bold syringe style handset occupies the centre of the dial, it has been filled with luminescent material. The Seiko 5 logo is presented neatly in silver beneath the 12 o’clock marker.The Strap: The blue NATO style strap completes the watch’s militaristic aesthetics. It is made from nylon, which is both durable and comfortable on the wrist. The strap has leather sizing holes which ensure the longevity of the timepiece. The strap fastens through the use of a sand blasted standard buckle that has the Seiko logo etched into it.The Functions: Seiko’s exclusive 4R36 calibre automatic movement powers this watch, it consists of 24 jewels and it offers an accuracy of -25/+45 seconds per day. AUTHENTIC VINTAGE SEIKO DIVER 7002-7000 WITH LOVELY MODIFIED BLUE PROSPEX DIAL AUTOMATIC MENS WATCHAbsolutely superb example of this iconic divers watch with the caliber 7002 movement which has 17 jewels and runs at 21,600 bph. Its a non-hacking movement like most traditional Seiko calibers and has a quickset date only calendar mechanism. By the late 1980s, Seiko had changed the case design of the divers from the earlier large cushion shape to a slimmed-down case. When the 7002 divers replaced the 6309s, they inherited the small case design from the 6309-7290. The 7002 series came out after the end of production of the 6309 series diver and ran from approx. 1988 to 1996. There are several different variations of the 7002 divers and this one the 7002-7000 is identical to the others with the vintage divers distinctive look.
