Made by BENRUS its a late 1940s early 1950s Mens 17 Jewel SHOCK ABSORBER Mechanical - Handwind Watch with a 32 mm Chromed case, Silver dial and the original Benrus embossed Crown. The Swiss 17J BH-25 (1080) movement was serviced in December 2019 and Runs Good - Keeps Good time. I have up for sale a nice vintage , I believe 1970s , Benrus Bronze Dial Face with Date Calendar 33mm Mens Wristwatch with original UT 31 Swiss mechanical movement. The watch runs and appears to keep good time but I have not had a chance to test it for very long. Cosmetically its a very nice looking watch. The bezel appears to be gold electroplate , some modest wear on the top of the lugs. Between the lugs it measures approx 18mm. No pins nor any band. The back is stainless steel and is stamped with the number 1318 for what ever that means. I am pretty sure for the style that the watch would date to somewhere in the 1970s , 80s at the latest but 70s would be my best guess. Personally I think that the watch looks nicer when viewed in person. ONLY THROW OUT THE BOXES AND PACKAGING AFTER YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE ITEM OR ITEMS AND FIND NO DAMAGE other than what may be noted in the condition report or shown in the pics. Rare Benrus Vintage Men’s Watch, 10k Rolled Gold Plated Bezel, 17j WindUp. Swiss made BA2 movement. Not running. Please view pictures for measurements and condition. Sold as is, no guarantees, parts/repair.

Age / Size: Estimated to be around 1960 manufacture date / 33.1mm diameter not including the stem tube Case Condition: This case rates an honest VERY GOOD PLUS and looks great for its age and having a micron gold finish. There is a little bit of gold finish wear to the underneath edges of the lugs, but not much compared to your average example these days- it is a 60 year old micron plated finish! Case Metal: 20 Microns yellow gold plated bezel with melded (joined together at the factory) stainless steel case back Dial Condition: This dial is really quite beautiful- an honest EXCELLENT original condition rating is in order! Even the hands are nearly perfect on this one!! Movement Type: Benrus Watch Co 17 Jewels full rotor automatic winding with date indicator Working / Non-Working: This watch is missing the stem and crown so there is limited testing that I can do on it. The case is hermetic / only has movement access by removing the crystal. Rest assured that this is a solid quality AS or ETA base caliber ebauche powering this classic Benrus! I can feel the winding rotor swinging nice and freely when I gently swing the watch case to get the winding rotor moving. I gently shook the case in the opposite direction and there was no sound of the winding rotor hitting the case (happens when a winding rotor has sag). This one will need to be fitted with a new two piece stem and a crown and may well need some mechanical tinkering to be 100% again- I cannot get the watch to tick by rocking it back and forth. Extras: Here for your bidding pleasure is the pictured early 1960s Benrus gents Selfwinding Series #7001 that features a melded one piece case of 10 Microns yellow gold plated for the bezel and stainless steel for the case back!! The watch is missing the stem and crown so there is little I can tell you about its running condition other than it won’t tick right now and has a nice tight winding rotor with no sag to it. The movement is presumed to be an A. Schild or ETA base caliber- you can only gain access to the movement by removing the crystal on this one. The dial is original and has a beautiful golden yellow finish and the HANDS on this one are as close to perfect as you can get. This case style and shape are exactly the same that were used on the Benrus Sea Lord model for a period of years but those may be a different case series number (??). This one is absolutely well worth tinkering back into good running order- the case and dial are significantly above average cosmetic condition!! I have just installed a brand new 18mm wide brown leather strap on the watch that is a fine match to the yellow gold case finish of the piece. I have priced this watch to $ELL with a REASONABLE opening bid price and there is NO RESERVE!!!! Payment is due immediately upon purchase.
