Their emblem—a cross in a shield—has been used by Victorinox since 1909. That year, the mother of founder Karl Elsener died and he named the company Victoria in her honour. In 1921, with the addition of inox (abbreviation for acier inoxydable, the French term for stainless steel) into their products, the brand and name of the company became the present Victorinox (Victoria+Inox). In 2001, Victorinox teamed up with SABI to create an international watch company Victorinox Swiss Army Watch AG. This is a Mens all stainless steel Swiss Air Force Split Second Chronograph quartz wristwatch with a date indicator. It has the original Swiss Air Force stainless steel bracelet band that had a signed buckle. It is excellent working condition and it is in near mint condition. You can tell it was barely worn. The instructions to operate all the functions are on the Swiss Army website. Everything works perfect. This is a very rare timepiece which sold for around $800.00 when it was purchased new and was made in limited quantities. DESCRIPTION: Dial: The beautiful black dial has a date indicator at the number 10 position. It is signed: SWISS ARMY on the top center dial. At the number 12 position there is the Victorinox shield in red with a white cross. Down under the number 6 it reads: SWISS MADE It has Arabic numerals in white. The minute and hour hands are in white with luminous material in the center and the main Chrono hand is a thin white baton style. The watch indications are date, hours, minutes and visual countdown ring. The chronograph indications are: 60 second counter, 60 minute counter, 12 hour totalizer and 1/10 of a second counter. The long baton style chrono hand that rests at the number 12 position has a second hand underneath, in yellow which is part of the split second timer mechanism. The photo number 11 clearly shows these two separate hands which at first glance look like there is just one hand. The dial has a chrono design with the two additional dials at the lower area of the dial side by side. The hands on these are white pointer styles. Crystal: It has a Sapphire crystal. Movement: This is a very high end and very accurate Swiss made ETA brand quartz movement with 27 jewels. Case: The large all stainless steel case has a beautiful finish. It is in near mint condition. The water resistant screwback has the Swiss Air Force logo in the center with the serial number 030124719 and is signed around the edge: STAINLESS STEEL / SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL / WATER RESISTANT 100 METERS / SWISS MADE. The case measures 43 mm across ( 1 & 11/16 inches ) not including all the different crowns. The lugs are 22 mm apart. Bi-directional internal rotating bezel controlled by the dedicated turn knob. Crown: The watch has a total of four crowns. The one at the traditional place by the number three position controls the numbered inner bezels position. Its called the visual countdown turner. The two large crowns on the other side of the watch are the push button chronometer controls. The top one is Push piece A: Chronometer start/stop. The bottom one is Push button B: Intermediate times, Chronograph zero reset. The actual crown is between those two and it is in a fully recessed design position so that you kind of have to look for it. It is not obvious at first glance the watch appears to have just the other three. It has three positions that it sets to. All crowns work flawlessly. Band: The watch has the original signed Swiss Air Force band in excellent condition. It has been shortened however to a small size. I have a large hand and a 7.25 inch wrist. I did easily get the watch over my hand because of the double clasp design which opens very large, but although I was able to close it and secure the double clasp on my wrist it is too tight and uncomfortable. Potential buyers please be advised that in order to be able to wear this watch with this great original bracelet band, unless it is being purchase for someone with a wrist thinner than say 7 inches or so, it will have to be lengthened again, and that will require the addition of at least one link or more depending on the size of the wrist it is intended for. The clasp has the Swiss Air force logo, and it is also signed STAINLESS STEEL I will also include with the watch a black two piece strap with steel buckle that looks great with the watch so that if purchased by someone with a large wrist they dont have to wait to get the bracelet lengthened before they can wear the watch. I do not polish or refinish any watch that I have in my possession. I do make sure that the watch and all of its functions are working perfectly before I list a watch. Ich verkaufe meine Victorinox Swiss Army ST-4000 Uhr, bekannt aus dem Film I AM LEGEND. In diesem Film trägt Will Smith die Uhr und daher hat die Uhr absoluten Kult- und Sammlerstatus. Die Uhr ist extrem selten und wurde nur sehr kurz aufgelegt. Die Uhr hat sehr geringe Tragespuren und hat vor kurzem ein Service erhalten. Alle Funktionen gehen einwandfrei. Lediglich das akustische Signal des Alarms geht nicht mehr. Die Uhr kommt in der original Box mit sämtlichen Papieren, die dabei waren.
